Meet Collina Nkhambule
The Little Mental Health Project was born from my own lived experience. For years, I silently struggled with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I didn’t have the language to describe what I was feeling, just an overwhelming sense of sadness, fear, and confusion that seemed to have no explanation. No one around me ever spoke about mental health, and like so many others, I was left to navigate the darkness alone.
At my lowest points, I battled insecurity, low self-esteem, and thoughts of self-harm. Mental illness is a profoundly isolating and misunderstood experience, and I came to realize that what hurt just as much as the symptoms themselves was the silence, the stigma that kept so many of us from speaking out or seeking help.
Through personal growth, therapy, and relentless self-education, I began to understand my mind and reclaim my well-being. But I also recognized something bigger: far too many people are left to suffer in silence, without the tools, support, or safe spaces they need.
That’s why I founded The Little Mental Health Project to break that silence.
This platform is my way of turning pain into purpose. I am deeply committed to raising awareness, providing education, and advocating for accessible, stigma-free mental health support, especially for communities where these conversations are still new or taboo. My mission is simple but urgent: to let others know they are not alone and to build a world where no one feels ashamed to ask for help.
Above all, I believe that open vulnerability is a powerful form of healing. By sharing our stories honestly and without shame, we create the kind of connection and understanding that can transform lives.

"By fostering safe spaces for open vulnerability, we empower people to heal, connect, and move forward stronger."
